The Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL) is an experienced manufacturing, contracting, research and advocacy organization housed at the Hunt Utilities Group sustainable research campus in Pine River, MN. RREAL was founded in 2000 by Jason Edens, a high school teacher with a keen interest in solar technologies and a vision for a better way to help struggling families through the winter. After writing his master's thesis on the role of solar technologies in meeting the basic needs of low-income families, Jason founded RREAL as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission of making solar power accessible to everyone, regardless of income.
After a decade of experience installing residential and commercial solar systems of all sizes and types across the country and developing and manufacturing cutting edge solar technologies, RREAL is a proven leader in the solar arena.
RREAL is fully licensed, bonded, and insured and is NABCEP certified to install both Solar Thermal and Solar Electric systems. We are also active members of a number of professional organizations including the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society.
