Connecticut Solar Installers

Connecticut Solar Directory

The State of Connecticut is one of the nation's leaders in the promotion of clean energy. Between 2005 and 2008, the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) dispersed more than $20 million in rebates to 815 residential solar projects, and $65 million to nearly 130 businesses and government projects. While solar rebate funds have been exhausted, keep an eye on our Connecticut solar incentives page, as funding may be replenished in the near future. Those interested in installing a solar energy system can still take advantage of the following:

  • Mandatory net-metering rules that apply to the state's two investor-owned utilities, CL&P and UI
  • The CCEF Solar Lease program, a well-funded program that enables homeowners to lease a PV system and offset their electricity bill with the system's output
  • A property tax exemption for solar energy systems
  • A low-interest loan program sponsored by the Department of Public Utility Control
  • A federal investment tax credit worth up to 30 percent of total system costs

Below you'll find city-specific and statewide listings for solar installers offering service in your area. When you're ready, fill out our solar energy information form to get matched with a qualified CT installer.

More about solar energy in Connecticut

Thanks to strong support from CT state lawmakers, Connecticut is on the forefront of renewable energy in America. In 2000, the state set up the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), funded by a small surcharge on residential and commercial electricity bills. The money -- over $100 million since 2000 -- has gone towards an array of renewable energy projects, including solar energy rebates and a useful solar lease program. These initiatives have made solar energy a cost-effective option for hundreds of Connecticut residents and businesses. [Note: as of May 2009, the CCEF Solar Lease Program is the only fully funded option for homeowners. See our Connecticut solar incentive page for more information.]
